ProPERLA Breathable Brick Sealer & Brick Waterproofer
- Creates a super hydrophobic coating on exterior bricks that completely repels moisture
- Remains highly breathable, which allows moisture to escape from the brickwork
- Creates an invisible insulation barrier that has been proven to help retain heat in walls and reduce heat loss
- Verified by the Energy Saving Trust
Reduce Energy Costs & Protect Homes
Independently and scientifically proven to help improve energy efficiency by keeping walls dry
Water simply rolls off, leaving the surface dry and reducing water absorption by up to 96.3%
Independent scientific tests demonstrated no restriction on the ability of the building to breathe
Improves the long-term appearance of the property -dirt particles are washed away with rainfall
The Problem With Brickwork
Contrary to popular belief, a large proportion of brickwork today is very susceptible to water ingress. In both new & old buildings alike, moisture is the single biggest cause of deterioration and damage.
Moisture will penetrate brickwork wherever it can, whether through a small crack in mortar or by being absorbed by the brick itself when it is subject to large amounts of wind driven rain.
When moisture finds it's way into the brickwork, it leads to further damage as the water vapour undergoes a freeze-thaw cycle. This freeze-thaw cycle expands moisture by roughly 9% each time, gradually making any cracks or damage in the brickwork even bigger. The end result is that damage is caused to the brick, resulting in damp and the potential need for building repair.
Keep The Weather Out & The Warmth In
ProPERLA technology by creating a completely water repellent coating on exterior brick walls has been shown to improve energy efficiency by reducing water absorption by up to 96.3%.
Independent testing recently revealed brick walls treated with ProPERLA showed a decrease of 6⁰C of heat loss in comparison to the walls that were left untreated.
Why is this? When the walls of properties get wet from wind driven rain, the water acts as a thermal bridge causing heat to transfer away from the property, reducing the energy efficiency of the property and contributing to higher energy bills.
By keeping brickwork dry, ProPERLA keeps them warm.
The Most Advanced Technology In The UK
What Makes ProPERLA Wall Coatings Superior?
Unlike some stone and brick water repellent products that are often refered to as 'sealants', ProPERLA technology does not block the pores of the masonry by coating them with a thin film.
ProPERLA nano-technology chemically bonds to the surface, penetrating up to up to 17mm into the substrate. By forming part of the brick, rather than creates a water repellent film, ProPERLA does not affect the breathability of the brickwork.
Independent scientific testing demonstrated that ProPERLA has little effect on breathability, leading to it achieving the BS EN ISO 7783:2011 industry standard.
Why Is Breathability So Important?
The problem with many brick sealers is that they are not breathable. The problem with this is that while they successfully prevent moisture from penetrating into the brick, by preventing moisture from escaping the brick, they actually make damp problems worse.
Households naturally create moisture, especially in bathrooms & kitchens. If you prevent this moisture from 'breathing' out of the building, the moisture will simply build on the interior walls. This makes a brick sealer extremely harmful to the health of a property, especially in the case of older buildings where significant deterioration in building's integrity and irreparable damage can occur.
By preventing moisture from entering the brick, but allowing any moisture to escape through water vapour. ProPERLA technology has been shown to significantly reduce penetrating damp.
Independently Tested & Certified
ProPERLA wall coatings have been rigorously tested and certified by the independent UKAS accredited testing laboratory, Lucideon.
They have been tested for durability, thermal insulating properties, breathability and water repellency and have achieved the following quality standards;
- EAD 090062-00-0404 – 25 year hygrothermal performance
- EAD 040083-00-0404 – External thermal insulation composite
- BS EN ISO 7783:2011 - Water vapour diffusion (breathability)
- BS EN ISO 12572 - Water Vapour Resistance

Protect & Restore Brickwork
ProPERLA Masonry Creme is the ideal treatment to enhance the beauty of your natural brickwork. By reducing water absorption, our masonry cream has been proven to reduce soluble salts migrating from bricks and mortar thereby preventing unsightly deposits of salt efflorescence.
As moisture cannot attach to the treated brickwork, neither can dirt. Our masonry cream creates a self-cleaning surface that allow dirt to simply flow off with rainfall. Furthermore, the growth of moss, algae and green growth is significantly reduced for the same reason.
Most importantly, it slows the ageing & breakdown of brickwork to protect it from the damaging effects of the weathering. Damage to brickwork such as cracked bricks or crumbling mortar.
